Then Trixie decided she wanted to model along with this granny. At first I was trying to distract her but I have admit, she was right, the picture is more beautiful with her in it.
I am almost finished with a baby blanket I have been working on for the last few weeks. Here is a sneak peek.
I used Cascade 220 100% Peruvian Highland Wool in fingering weight. I love the way it feels, but what I am most drawn to is the diversity of color. My only hesitation in using it is that it is wool and needs to be hand washed in a special wash or it could felt up.
In other words, it’s high maintenance.
So, I know that when I am giving someone a gift made with wool that I am complicating their life a bit. I call it wool gifting guilt and I wonder if there are others with this affliction.
Usually my love of wool and color prevail and I give the wool, ignoring my nagging suspicion that I am no better than the person who gives your 5 year old a complicated toy with a 1004 tiny plastic pieces.
But, in my defense, I try to include a small bottle of wool wash to help mitigate the inconvenience.
Plus, in all honestly you should hand wash hand made gifts. They will last longer.
It just makes good sense.
Plus, I love wool!
And you should too!
